LPR, Europe’s second largest pallet pooling provider, has confirmed its ongoing relationship with R&R Ice Cream, celebrating a successful 12 month partnership.
R&R became Europe’s largest private label manufacturer of ice creams and lollies after the acquisition of Fredericks Diaries in July 2013 and appointed LPR to deliver pallets across three UK sites. LPR already works with a number of R&R’s distributors and retail customers which has aided the smooth transition of the contract.
The relationship has so far seen LPR handle 215,000 pallets across a network of 196 drop-off locations. This has resulted in R&R receiving a 12% cost saving, as well as an 80% reduction in time spent on administration and pallet reconciliation. Overall, R&R has also benefitted from a superior pallet quality.
Throughout Europe, LPR handles more than 53 million pallet movements a year; making the pallet pool operator a leading player within the FMCG sector.
Jill Browning, head of logistics at R&R, said: “Working with LPR is a dream in terms of administration and reconciliations because I don’t have to do any! The contract is so straightforward and LPR has been incredibly professional throughout the whole changeover. They worked closely with us to ensure a smooth process, especially considering the huge number of pallet movements required.”
Managing director of LPR UK, Jane Gorick, added: “By building a strong working partnership and embracing a collaborative approach, we were able to find the optimum approach for R&R’s logistics operation. Because of this, we have been able to deliver an efficient and effective solution that meets the company’s specific needs. This demonstrates that our flexible, high quality and reliable manner is essential in the modern business environment.”
