Stewart Oades has been appointed as chairman of Isotrak’s Third Party Logistics Integration Service (3iS) Club, in a move which demonstrates Isotrak’s commitment to driving the solution onwards and providing 3iS Club members with a product which meets their exact requirements.
Stewart has experience across all areas of logistics operations, supply and distribution. He progressed through the industry holding senior executive positions at Safeway, Christian Salvesen Distribution plc and Exel plc. As Group CEO of Christian Salvesen plc he led the sale of the business, and since 2008 he has pursued a non-executive career which includes roles as Chairman of Wesupply and Netlog. He now sits as President of the Freight Transport Association, and also as non- executive director of Palmer and Harvey and Clipper Group.
Isotrak is an innovator within the tracking and telematics sector, and until now users have only had visibility of vehicles within their own fleet and the ability to monitor KPIs set against their own vehicles. Isotrak recognises that many companies use 3rd party hauliers or contractors alongside their own fleet, which is why 3iS was developed to allow customer visibility of third party vehicles movements, transport plans and the ability to set and monitor KPIs as if the vehicle were one of their own. The software is Isotrak’s new third party integration tool and unique to the business, and is governed by the fleet operator to ensure confidentiality and security of information.
3iS is run as a members club and is completely system agnostic, so if a member uses a non-Isotrak telematics system they can still be a 3iS member. Crucially, the benefits of 3iS are broad, 3iS allows 3PLs, haulage operators, suppliers and customers to enter into deeper and more fruitful business relationships taking advantage of spare transport capacity, but with only minimal administration and total privacy.
3iS does not require users to invest in Isotrak tracking hardware, it includes a new GPS management module that will accept data feeds from a wide range of alternative GPS hardware. Additionally, the system will interface with external transport management systems, including products from Paragon Routing, Ortec and Enterprise Software. This places an extremely low barrier to entry for companies wishing to start enjoying the benefits of 3iS ‘club’ membership.
Stewart will be an independent advisor and conduit for 3iS members, working with them to understand their goals and ultimately achieve the product they require, while providing high-level guidance on product strategy based on his extensive industry knowledge.
