BRANDED DELIVERY SERVICE WITH DUAL OPTION FACILITY. TAMWORTH-based JDR DISTRIBUTION LIMITED has launched a new business delivery service, branded as 'moved4u.com'. It offers a regional consolidation gateway, providing fast, flexible, efficient and cost-effective single or multi-drop delivery options

'moved4u-Business Delivery' which is a 24/7 drop-in, pay-as-you-use pallet delivery service, with no committed minimum volumes required, and 'moved4u-Home Delivery', which is to be introduced later in the year, and is a drop-in home delivery service, dedicated to providing continuous delivery to homes between 06.00 and 22.00 hours, seven days a week
JDR says that there are many key features to moved4u.com, such as the absence of required minimum volumes, the 'open-door' access to the service through an IT web-based browser, the lack of fussy procedures and the simplicity-of-use which combine to make it more attractive than other consolidation services. This is borne out by the substantial early take-up of and interest in the brand.
The way moved4u-Business Delivery works, is that customers drop in their pre-labelled pallets to the Tamworth hub, having input the jobs online beforehand. As a 24/7 facility, the time of receipt and unload are flexible to suit the needs of the customer. The consignments are then delivered as required, and are monitored and controlled by an Operations Support Desk, notifying the customer of any issues and resolving them at the time. Emails are sent to confirm any delivery exception resolutions, and by midnight all POD images are emailed to each customer, with a summary report of all delivery exceptions and their resolutions.
Initially, both the moved4u-Business Delivery and moved4u-Home Delivery services will operate out of a 270,000 sqft centre in Tamworth, located just off the M42 at Junction 10. Deliveries will be despatched to postcodes ranging from West Wales across to Lincoln, Oxford and up to Stoke-on-Trent. Details of other moved4u.com locations and deliver postcode areas identified for roll-out will follow soon.
