JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation company [NYSE:OSK] and a leading global manufacturer of aerial work platforms and telehandlers, has announced that Jonathan Dawson has been promoted to Managing Director of Power Towers Ltd. He takes over from Brian King, founder of Power Towers Ltd, who has changed role to Chairman of the JLG low-level access R&D and Product Development Board.
JLG Industries expanded its low-level access portfolio with the acquisition of Power Towers Ltd., a leading low-level access equipment manufacturer based in Leicester, UK on 1 June 2015. Founded in 2007, Power Towers specializes in the design and manufacture of low-level access products.
“Power Towers was acquired in 2015 being a very strong business and they have continued that success”, comments Karel Huijser, General Manager and Vice President for JLG EMEA BV. He continues, “We are now ready for the next phase of integration and global expansion of their unique portfolio. The intention is to leverage the JLG organization, drive synergies and expand the footprint.”
Commencing January 2019, Brian King will become the Chairman of the JLG Industries low-level access R&D and Product Development Board and together with Mark Richardson – lead engineer at Power Towers – take responsibility for new low-level access products and business development, working closely with both Power Towers and JLG. Sandra King will also remain with the business and continue to lead and develop the Power Towers administration team.
Brian commented “Both Mark and I welcome this further step in Power Towers’ development; we have grown over 100% since acquisition and this move will accelerate this still further by leveraging JLG’s true global presence and resources. With Jonathan leading the day to day management of Power Towers we can focus on what we enjoy most which is new product development, continuing to work very closely with our customers.”
Dawson joined JLG in 2006 and started as Sales Director European Telehandlers, responsible for product management and sales of telehandlers in EMEA. In 2010 he was promoted to Senior Director Sales and Customer Support – EMEA Distribution, based in the UK. He currently holds the role of Senior Sales Director for EMEAIR.
As a result of the transition in leadership, Laurent Montenay will move into the position of Senior Director of Sales EMEAIR from January 1, 2019. Montenay joined JLG in 2006 as part of the Caterpillar Strategic Alliance with Caterpillar, fulfilling various roles from Area Sales Manager to Senior Director of Sales and Product Support EMEA. He then moved on within JLG from Sales Director Germany to his current role of Sales Director CEE and France.
