High-flying DEL Equipment (UK) has signalled its determination to underpin its position as Britain’s number one tail lift manufacturer by making a key appointment to its sales team.
Jon Gregory has taken up the newly-created position of Southern Regional Sales Manager. The 32-year-old brings over 10 years’ experience of the road transport industry to his new role and joins DEL at a very exciting time – his arrival follows another record-breaking year for the Oxfordshire-based company, which is preparing to unveil the latest addition to its market-leading product range at the 2014 Commercial Vehicle Show.
Underlining the impressive progress DEL has made among truck and van operators based throughout the UK, some 60 per cent of the customer accounts Jon is now managing are still relatively new to the brand. Nevertheless, he is confident of winning plenty of orders from fresh converts.
Although new to DEL, Jon is certainly no stranger to its products. He previously worked as a Business Development Manager for Scania dealer Keltruck, and regularly recommended DEL tail lifts to customers.
"Not only does the DEL range outshine the competition in terms of its quality, capability and all round ‘fitness for purpose’, it also comes with the finest after sales support," he says. "So when this opportunity arose I grabbed it with both hands.
"There’s huge potential to grow sales, especially with the imminent launch of our heavy-duty retractable lift, which meets the needs of operators seeking a stronger, more robust product. DEL customers really appreciate the fact that we don’t just sell them a lift and walk away, but support them throughout their period of ownership."
Jon, who lives with his wife in Tamworth, continues: "Even if operators aren’t immediately considering a purchase I’d welcome an opportunity to talk to them – I’m passionate about our products and would love to show them what they’re missing."
A qualified motor vehicle technician and self-confessed ‘petrolhead’, Jon has restored and modified a number of classic cars. Most recently, he converted a three-wheeler Reliant Rialto into a replica of the infamous Only Fools & Horses van to use as his wedding car last summer.
DEL Sales Director Simon Eskriett adds: "Jon’s experience will be of great benefit to our customers and enhance the level of support that we are able to offer throughout the UK. His appointment will certainly help us to build on our continued growth."
Part of HIAB and the Cargotec Group, DEL Equipment (UK) has been designing and manufacturing tail lifts in Britain since 1987, and moved to its current, 64,000 sq ft factory in Witney in 2006.
