Kardex to strengthen product and service offering

with integration of Megamat. Sum of the parts greater than the whole as leading brands merge to cement market leadership position Kardex Remstar International Group – the world leader in dynamic storage and retrieval systems – will strengthen its market leading position in 2008 by integrating the activities of Kardex and Megamat.

The merging of the two brands will bring many benefits to the group's customers worldwide as, among other things, best-of-type features will be merged into a single product range and there will be a much bigger investment in research and development leading to more product innovation.

From the customer's perspective, there will be improved geographical coverage – with a better density of trained engineers in the territories, delivering a significant increase of “first time fixes” by more specialists, faster response times and less travel time per engineer, along with a wider international sales and service coverage.

“Since its purchase in 1999, Megamat has been operating in parallel with Kardex, even competing in some areas,” explains Richard Price, Business Development Manager at Kardex. “By merging the two brands we will reinforce our position as the dominant player in the worldwide market. The synergy gained from the integration will allow us to offer both new and existing customers unparalleled products in terms of performance and value for money whilst also offering unequalled customer support levels throughout the world. We also have ambitious growth targets, and this new approach will give us a very firm foundation from which to achieve these.”
