Kewill wins major ECOMMERCE B2B contract from Findus Group

The UK section of the Findus Group, Young's Seafood Limited, is transforming its communications with its trading partners after choosing Kewill, a leading provider of global trade and logistics, to provide a fully managed order management system. This system will enable Young's Seafood Limited, the fish and seafood producer, to manage critical business data across its multitude of brands and trading partners, through a single hosted platform.

Following a highly competitive tender which saw Kewill go head-to-head with its major competitors, Young's Seafood Limited will now implement Kewill MessageBroker, a fully hosted solution which connects any system to another for exchange and consistency of data throughout the business. Young's Seafood Limited will also use Kewill Xchange, a B2B managed system for exchange of information with trading partners. The solution will allow Young's Seafood Limited clearer visibility and control over their entire order management processes.

Tony Carr, IT Director at Findus Group, comments, "The fast moving food industry is a diverse and ever changing environment, so we required a resilient and responsive system. Kewill understood not just our requirements, but those of our trading partners, and therefore delivered a brief that catered for all of our businesses needs - presenting us with an agile, flexible and responsive hosted solution. The technology will consolidate our critical business data from across the enterprise, mitigating the business risk by relinquishing the need to rely on internal teams of specialists to handle the order management cycle - enabling us to focus on the business of selling quality food products."

Brands that come under the Young's Seafood Limited umbrella include Young's and Findus in the UK, alongside multiple own-label product ranges produced for customers. The end goal is to achieve total centralisation of all business data, integrating all brand divisions.

Eventually, everything will link into a single ERP system for consistency of business data. Working toward this, Kewill is currently replacing links into the different ERP systems across the many brands, preparing for the centralisation of critical business data.

Jacquie Boast, COO EMEA at Kewill, states, "Securing such a prestigious contract underpins Kewill's investment in our B2Bi and eCommerce business solutions and demonstrates our dominance in the B2Bi and eCommerce markets. Our success is based on providing a hosted platform for data transformation and connectivity that is capable of linking multiple, complex business environments. This, teamed with our deep understanding of the industry and client resources, delivered a winning solution to meet the UK section of Findus Group's objectives."
