In a year of change, Komatsu Utility Co., Ltd. has reorganised its UK forklift operations. With plans to strengthen the brand's electric and IC market share, increase its UK dealer coverage and introduce new innovations and products including its new electric counter balance range (AE50 / AM50) into the UK.
Key to the re-structuring, Komatsu Utility Co., Ltd.has appointed Essex-based Company Ambassador Lift Trucks as a UK Importer. Already highly experienced in the industry, Ambassador will be responsible for supporting existing Komatsu forklift dealers nationwide, while focussing on increasing Komatsu's market share with the appointment of additional dealers across the UK.
On 27 September, Komatsu Utility Company President and CEO Mr Isoda, and European General Manager Mr Goto visited Ambassador Lift Trucks.

Speaking at Ambassador's Witham headquarters Mr Goto said: 'We are proud to appoint Ambassador as an importer, and we look forward to a successful long term partnership in the future.'
Ambassador's Sales Director Trevor De'Ath said 'We look forward to the new challenge ahead; we have an exciting future with Komatsu forklift.'
In addition to growing the network of Komatsu forklift UK dealers, Ambassador Lift Trucks will be responsible for UK sales, after-sales support and the supply of Komatsu forklift spare parts to its dealers nationwide.
National Sales Manager Chris Bunn and Service Manager Ray Hilton joined Ambassador from OM who previously distributed Komatsu forklift products in the UK. Their plan is to support and develop the Komatsu forklift UK Dealer Network. Chris Bunn said 'We aim to provide a service to our dealers that we would expect ourselves from a manufacturer. We will offer a high quality product at a reasonable cost.'
Chris continued 'We are looking forward to launching the Komatsu AE50 and AM50 electric range to the UK at the beginning of next year.' The new trucks bring bold improvements - with the reduction of total operating cost, high productivity resulting from outstanding performance that nears that of an IC engine truck.
