Konecranes UK wins Ghana project order

Mancon Consultancy & Project Management based in Dokki, Egypt has awarded Konecranes UK Industrial Cranes Division the contract to supply 6 cranes to be delivered to the Port of Takaradi, Ghana this December.

The Ghana project is for a plant maintenance centre for which each crane has been specially designed for the demanding operational requirements.

The order is for three 20t/5t double girder CXTD cranes at 24.1m span; a 15t/5t CXTD double girder crane at 20.9m span and two single hoist 5t CXTS Single girder cranes at 13.6m span.

All of the double girder cranes will be fitted with Konecranes developed components and accessories including: girder platforms, trolley platforms, festoon cross crane cables, girder joints to allow containerised shipment, Konecranes Remox radio control with pendant backup, dual speed hoists Konecranes DynA range of inverter stepless speed control on all cross and long travel motions. Konecranes ControlPro condition monitoring system is installed on all hoists, allowing programmed maintenance to be properly scheduled to suit usage and to provide overload protection, increased safety and minimise unscheduled stoppages. TRUCONNECT Remote Monitoring and Reporting will operate providing actual crane usage data that enables visibility to crane maintenance and application compliance.

Power will be delivered by Konecranes enclosed conductor system and there will be 2 step limit switches on the cross and long travel motions. Al control panels are heated and tropicalised. The cranes will each be painted with a 2 pack Epoxy paint system giving many years of protection before 1st paint maintenance is due.
