Labelling consultancy Legal Impackt appoints Tom McBride Regulatory Compliance Advisor

Legal labelling consultancy Legal Impackt, a Sun Branding Solutions business brand, has announced a new addition to its team of regulatory experts.

Tom McBride joins Legal Impackt as Regulatory Compliance Advisor on General Merchandise. The appointment is another sign of the business’ ambitious growth plan which includes extending its capabilities to include general merchandise as well as food services.

As a chartered quality professional with 14 years experience working on a wide range of products including toys, childcare products, electrical and DIY goods, Tom McBride brings a wealth of experience in general merchandise regulation to Legal Impackt.

During his eight-year retail career, he has worked with leading retailers and been responsible for the quality, safety and legality of new products. During this period he has gained experience in product appraisal, specification, testing, pack copy, inspection, product improvement and regulatory compliance. In the past, Tom has also held the position of Secretary of UK Notified Bodies Toys Group, where he represented the UK in Europe, whilst he also worked with an international test laboratory to build a new nursery product test facility that helped brands adhere to UKAS requirements.

James Egan, Business Unit Director of Legal Impackt, commented: "We are delighted to welcome Tom McBride to Legal Impackt. He brings with him a huge amount of experience in an area that we are looking to expand. Whilst we have a number of experienced food and drink regulatory professionals working within our business, until now we have not been able to offer general merchandise legal labelling advice to brands and retailers. Tom is an invaluable addition to the team and will help us achieve our plans to grow into a new sector."

Tom McBride added: "Legal Impackt undoubtedly has ambitious growth plans and I believe the next few years will be an exciting and challenging time. I am looking forward to helping the general merchandise side of the business grow."
