Lawrie Alford has been promoted to Strategic Business Manager of Passengerfta, the Freight Transport Association's new business unit combining all the association's services for public service vehicle operators. Lawrie, who has been Sector Head of FTA's automotive and leasing sector for the past five years, will take up his new post on 1 January.
Passengerfta offers a package of independent auditing, technical training and operational support to members reviewing their quality and safety standards. FTA has been providing vehicle inspection and auditing services to the passenger vehicle sector for the past 20 years.
Lawrie Alford said: "With significant challenges facing the PSV industry over the next decade, Passengerfta has been launched to raise the profile of this increasingly important area of FTA activity. I am very much looking forward to helping our members in this sector stay compliant and improve their efficiency."
Lawrie has a technical background and was previously a founder member of Topmark Vehicle Contracts and Alternative Fuel Champion at GE Capital.
