A leading UK logistics security company has landed a major order with one of the world's largest retailers seeking to improve the security of goods in transit in South America.
Walmart Brazil has chosen SecureSeal Systems Ltd, an acknowledged leader in reusable security seals and location tracking for road transport, to supply them with tamper-evident SecureSeal trailer seals to replace the current disposables on a fleet of 850 vehicles. The seals will also be specified on all of the company's new-build trailers.
The SecureSeal is a permanent reusable tamper evident seal with a unique random security number generator that indicates unauthorised door openings. This robust, stainless steel product offers years of trouble-free service for securing goods on the move.
Walmart Brazil required a cost-effective and reliable seal that also met its commitment to the environment. The giant retailer has an extensive green programme in Brazil and by using SecureSeal on its trailers will eliminate the future prospect of thousands of disposable seals ending up in landfill sites.
Cameron Grant, Managing Director for OEM Group said: "SecureSeal offers a more reliable, better value and longer term solution than disposable or electronic seals. Battery free and fully recyclable, the SecureSeal is in keeping with corporate green policies which are becoming increasingly important."
This breakthrough in overseas markets is another major coup for the award-winning Enfield company. SecureSeal Systems' Export Sales Director Ben Grant explained: "There are now in excess of 50,000 vehicles fitted with SecureSeal worldwide. With the inclusion of Walmart Brazil we have not only successfully entered the South American market, but are proud to be specified by yet another of the world's largest retailers."
SecureSeal is the company's flagship product developed as part of a new generation of security and automated monitoring devices, and winner of a Department for Trade and Industry (DTI) Innovation Award. SecureSeal Systems Ltd has also received the Enfield Innovator's Award for 2010 for a security solution for intermodal shipping, and was a finalist in the RFID Breakthrough Awards.
The decision by a world-renowned retailer to secure its fleet of vehicles in Brazil with this environmentally friendly reusable seal recognises OEM Group's commitment to making the transportation of goods on the highways safer and greener through continued product development in the field of logistics security.
