A Manchester logistics company and local junior football club have celebrated the start of the new football season by teaming up to film a highly original promotional video.
AKW Group and Hough End Griffins under 14s FC came together with marketing specialists Mason Mac Media to create a story about the team visiting AKW to sign a sponsorship deal…with hilarious consequences!
The story was then shot at AKW Group’s Trafford Park facility, which includes a transport operation of over 100 vehicles, 500,000 square-feet of warehousing as well a dedicated contract packing operation.
Carl Murray, Commercial Director of AKW Group, aka ‘The Manager’ said: "The film is all about doing something fun and a little bit different to promote our company and the great work done by Hough End Griffins in the local community."
"It was a long day filming but the end result is fantastic. We had plenty of laughs putting it together and saw some brilliant displays of footballing skills from the youngsters in some unusual places."
AKW Group Chairman Tony Worthington and Bozz Walker, Chairman of Hough End Griffins JFC, also make an appearance in the video.
Hough End Griffins JFC Head of Coaching Paul Evans has worked with the team for seven years, winning the Manchester County Cup in 2012 as well as several league and cup titles.
Paul said: "As an inner city football club we are focused on equality and creating an integrated community. Football is a great facilitator in achieving this and the video tie in with AKW Group will highlight our club to a wider audience."
Hough End Griffins JFC was formed in 2005 with just one team and now has over 20 teams all run by volunteers. In 2010 they were Manchester FA Charter Development Club of The Year.
