LLOYD Shoes GmbH opens new automated logistics centre complete with TGW’s conveyor and storage technology

German manufacturer of high quality shoes, LLOYD Shoes GmbH has entrusted the fit-out of its new logistics centre to automated warehouse solution provider, TGW.

With a 120-year history of quality and service, LLOYD is making preparations for continued growth with the opening of an automated logistics centre, complete with TGW’s conveyor and storage technology, at its site in Sulingen, Germany.

"The combination of quality, technical maturity and planned reserve capacities at all parts of the installation combined with intelligent controls, convinced us that TGW’s equipment would fit ideally with our own WMS software," says Head of Logistics at LLOYD, Manfred Buschmeier.

"The IT includes an efficient and demand-oriented switch-off mechanism. By permanently evaluating current orders and resulting workloads for workstations, picking stations and implemented technologies, the system optimises overall efficiency as well as personnel placement."

At the centre of LLOYD’s new logistics centre will be an automated 15metre high mini-load warehouse with five aisles and a storage capacity of 50,000 cartons.

"TGW’s triple-deep carton storage concept for LLOYD’s carton sizes, which range from 400x300mm to 700x700mm, optimises the storage conditions in each aisle and provides the highest throughput rates," concludes Buschmeier.
