Local logistics company invests for growth

St Albans based Forward Trucking Services Ltd, part of the Palletways network has expanded its already 50-strong fleet following an increased demand for business.

The company has invested in two new 18 tonne MAN Euro 6 vehicles, which offer significant environmental benefits through reduced emissions and greater fuel efficiency. FTS has also added three new trailers, including a Double Deck solution to increase its delivery capacity.

Alongside the development of its fleet, Forward Trucking Services has new premises in Radlett, St Albans, which provides a larger site to accommodate the expanded fleet.

In addition to the 18,000 sq ft yard, the site also offers 14,000 sq ft of office and warehouse space, which accommodates administration and clerical staff. The new facility provides greater capacity and flexibility for customers to store their goods on site.

Barry Simmonds, Principal of FTS, said: “These are exciting times for our business, following significant investment over the past six months. The location of our new premises keeps us in touch with our roots here in St Albans, whilst also providing a foundation for expansion of our business.”
