Logistics firm raises over £26k in a month for charities

Seven charities have benefited from funds raised at an event held by Huddersfield-based logistics firm The Pink Link Ltd

‘The Pink Tie and Tiara, Midday to Midnight Extravaganza Ball’ took place on 8 October and saw 270 guests being treated to a full day of pampering, gourmet meals, an array of stalls to purchase gifts, cream teas and live entertainment.

The charities to benefit from the occasion are: Yorkshire Cancer Research, The Laura Crane Teenage Cancer Trust, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Kirkwood Hospice, HRI Breast Clinic and national prostate and testicular cancer charity ‘Everyman’.

The event started at midday and continued until midnight. The theme of the event was ‘pink’, so everybody sported pink outfits, sipped pink champagne and danced the night away in a wonderfully decorated pink suite.

An auction took place which saw guests bidding for top prizes including a luxurious 5 star ski trip and villa holidays in Turkey, Spain, France and Portugal. Other prizes included tickets to see Peter Kay, George Michael and a selection of sporting events.

Vicki Davenport, Sales and Commercial Director of The Pink Link, said: "We couldn’t have wished for a more successful event. Thank you to everyone who helped us raise a fantastic £26,650 for our seven charities, which brought our fundraising total over the last ten years to £122,795!"

The Pink Link Ltd serves customers in Yorkshire and is a member of the Palletways Group, Europe’s fastest and largest delivery network for palletised freight.
