Make a date in your diary

to be at the brand-new ShD Regional Shows! Now is the time to put the ShD Regional Shows – the new materials handling exhibitions for Scotland, the South East and the South West – in your diary. Space at the events is selling fast and the shows promise to be well worth a visit.

Launched under the title of the leading materials handling magazine, ShD: Storage, Handling, Distribution, the new regional exhibitions will showcase a diverse range of logistics equipment and services including fork-lift trucks, racking, shelving, palletizers, packaging machinery, plastic containers, supply chain software, mobile data systems, live storage solutions, traction batteries, automated handling systems, shrink-wrap systems, logistics services, emissions reduction equipment, explosion protection systems, operator training services, industrial doors and heavy plant. With innovative ideas to help reduce costs and maximise supply chain efficiency – plus a live demonstration area – all under one roof, a visit to ShD Scotland, ShD South East or ShD South West will be both highly informative and extremely time-effective for visitors.

The three regional events have been launched by leading exhibition organiser Quartz – the company behind the UK's premier logistics show, the International Materials Handling eXhibition (IMHX), which is staged every three years at the NEC, Birmingham. ShD Scotland will be the first event, taking place at the SECC in Glasgow on the 22nd and 23rd April. ShD South East will follow on September 17th and will be held at the Kent Showground, near Maidstone. The final show will be ShD South West, which will be staged at the Westpoint Centre in Exeter on 12th November.

Explaining the launch of the three regional shows, Managing Director of Quartz Publishing and Exhibitions, Paul Michael, said, "Our exhibitors were delighted with the success of our international show, IMHX, but – as this is held only once every three years – they told us that they wanted some regional events in between."

Commented Chris Adams, UK Sales Manager for ShD Regional Shows exhibitor Interroll, "Our involvement in the ShD exhibitions stems from our desire to be involved in logistics shows in geographic areas where there are no traditional handling exhibitions or similar events." Zoran Milivojevic, Marketing Services Co-ordinator for exhibitor Pyroban, said, "We want be close to our end-users and, with regional shows, we can go and support them rather than forcing them to come to a central exhibition." David James, Business Development Director for exhibitor KNAPP UK, commented, "What attracted us to these regional shows is the fact that they constitute low-cost marketing that is somewhat speculative. Much marketing today is highly targeted but you need some elements that are speculative, or you may be missing a new market trend."

As with its showcase IMHX event, Quartz is implementing an active promotional campaign to attract visitors to the new regional shows. Publicity and advertising in both the trade and regional press is being combined with a direct mail and e-cast campaign to pull in high-calibre visitors to the three events. With a limited number of stands now available at each of the shows, potential exhibitors are being encouraged not to delay in making a booking.
