Tennant, manufacturer of industrial and commercial floor cleaning solutions, will be showcasing its technologically advanced floor sweeping machines as well as its very successful breakthrough ec-H2O™ technology for its scrubber-dryers at the Food and Drink Logistics Show on 21st-24th March at the NEC, Birmingham. ec-H2O™ converts plain tap water into a powerful cleaning agent without any added chemicals. This means it's perfect for cleaning environments where food is manufactured, stored or sold as the threat of cross-contamination with chemicals is eliminated.
Apart from no cross-contamination with food, cleaning with ec-H20™ also eliminates harmful fumes and waste water associated with chemicals. It also increases safety as no touching, breathing or disposing of chemicals is needed and reduces costs - both of operating the floor cleaning equipment and eliminating the cost of detergents. Winner of the European Business Award for Innovation in 2009, ec-H20™ is available on a range of Tennant's walk-behind and ride-on scrubber-dryer machines.
ec-H20 customers can now also benefit from Tennant's inclusion as part of the DEFRA (Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) Enhanced Capital Allowance Scheme for Water Efficient Technologies. The scheme enables Tennant customers to claim 100% first year capital allowance on investments in technologies and products that encourage sustainable water use. Tennant customers are now able to write off the whole cost of their investment against their taxable profits of the period during which they make the investment rather than spreading it over up to 12 years.
Nick Meredith, General Manager UK and Ireland, comments: "ec-H20 is the perfect floor cleaning solution for food and beverage environments where high food standards regulations have to be met. Just as importantly, ec-H20 also helps our customers achieve sustainable cleaning targets and cost efficiency. Now, more than ever, companies are having to tightly manage their budgets, whilst meeting strict industry regulations. To have the opportunity to help improve our customer's cash flow and achieve their sustainability targets whilst maintaining these standards is a positive step forward for everyone."
Visitors to the show will also be able to find out more about Tennant's new S20 ride-on sweeper featuring the SweepMax™ and ShakeMax™ technology. The S20 improves air quality and optimises cleaning with the SweepMax™ three-stage dust control system, which removes the majority of dust and moisture from the air flow before it reaches the filter, and the ShakeMax™ 360 filter shaker, which cleans the filter from the inside out, dislodging dust particles caught deep within the pleats, improving productivity. Costs are also reduced with a nanofibre canister filter that lasts three to five times longer than a traditional panel filter. All this provides industry leading levels of filtration, improved air quality, and lowered cost of ownership.
