Meachers Global Logistics has joined forces with Helka Global Logistics in Hong Kong in the delivery of a large joint project for a multinational customer facilitating exports from China to the UK.
Meachers Global Logistics recently joined the Global Freight Group (GFG), a network of over 50 other freight forwarding and logistics specialists from around the world.
Meachers Global Logistics Managing Director, Stuart Terris, said: "In the five months since joining the GFG we have been able to build on existing relationships with operators in Europe, but also develop new bonds with other businesses around the world.
"We have worked with clients and other members based in North and South America, the Far East, but also handled shipments from developing markets like Malaysia. We have undertaken both import & export work, handling everything from local UK customs procedures to overseeing and coordinating entire transactions from point of origin to the final destination."
Earlier this month, Meachers welcomed James Webb, Trade Development Manager from Helka Global Logistics' Hong Kong office, he said: "As a member of the GFG for 17 years Helka have benefitted hugely from being involved with this dynamic and ever growing group. It has given us the opportunity to build strong, long lasting relationships with overseas operators and has given us the flexibility we need to be able to meet the demands of our clients.
"The GFG network has enabled us to grow due to the diversity of its members and the fact that the network can easily compete in size and scope to any multinational freight forwarder worldwide."
Commercial Director for Meachers, Gary Whittle, said: "We are able to rely on the local knowledge provided by the other members and it is great to have someone on the other end of the phone who can sort out any issues before they become a problem. It has also allowed us to get involved in different industry sectors worldwide as we can provide solutions outside of our 'standard portfolio' by utilising other member's services within the GFG."
Meachers Global Logistics remains optimistic for growth throughout 2012, with new Managing Director Stuart Terris at the helm, and have ambitious plans to continue building relationships and strengthening the brand as a truly global logistics provider.
