Meachers wins new group contract from Polimeri

Meachers Group Holdings has been awarded a further three-year contract with Southampton based Polimeri Europa, a leading manufacturer of Olefins, Aromatics, Styrene, Phenol, Cumene, Di-methylcarbonates, synthetic rubbers and latex. The new contract is a continuation of a business agreement that began in 2001.

“We are exceptionally pleased with the way Meachers have managed our account,” says Chris Rogers, Distribution Manager. “Over the past three years Meachers has proved their ability to provide us with an all encompassing logistics and warehousing service supported by an excellent local management team.”

The Meachers Group will be supplying a range of services to Polimeri Europa including warehousing, transport and freight forwarding. The Group will be managing the stock holding, groupage and full load operation of Polimeri Europa’s products.

Meachers Transport is providing warehousing and product despatch services for Polimeri Europa to its customers throughout the UK in the areas of tyre manufacture, hose and belting production, textiles and the paper industry. Oast Agencies, the Group’s freight-forwarding arm, is shipping product on behalf of Polimeri Europa to locations throughout Europe and the rest of the world.

Through ongoing investment in technology and equipment Meachers is able to offer best business practices to customers’ supply chains, such as Polimeri Europa, and provide them with a seamless outsourced operation”.

Polimieri Europa has production facilities in Hythe, Southampton and Grangemouth, Scotland as well as 10 plants in Italy and another seven in other European countries and the rest of the world. As part of the UK’s Styrenics and Elastomers Division, it has been manufacturing and storing Styrene, synthetic rubbers and latex at its Hythe site since the late 1950’s.

Meachers facilities in Southampton and Derby manage a flow of goods and services for customers to ensure a continuous flow of products from initial collection through to final distribution.
