Mercedes-Benz Sprinter raises the roof for ceiling experts

Suspended Ceilings UK (SCUK) numbers some of the country's biggest retailers among its clients, so conveying a professional image is crucial.

No surprise, then, that when the Merseyside company needed a new van, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter was at the top of its shopping list.

SCUK's new Sprinter 313CDI is powered by a state-of-the-art 129hp common rail turbodiesel engine which as well as meeting the latest Euro 5 emissions limits is also impressively frugal; in fact, CO2 emissions are 13 per cent lower than those of its Euro 4 predecessor, while the latest model is also 15 per cent more fuel efficient, this equating to an extra 4.5 miles per gallon.

Supplied by Liverpool dealer Road Range Commercials, the Long-bodied van is the subject of a Mercedes-Benz Financial Services hire purchase agreement.

As well as suspended ceilings SCUK installs dry lining and partitioning. It is now using its smart, silver Sprinter to deliver materials to the premises of customers throughout mainland UK and Northern Ireland.

The company, which also serves the industrial and commercial sectors, employs a team of trusted sub-contractors and provides a comprehensive service, from design stage to completion.

With headquarters on the Prescot Business Park, Knowsley, SCUK was founded in 2008 by Roy Broomfield, who has 20 years' experience in the industry.

He explained: "There were two main criteria when we came to replace our previous vehicle: reliability and appearance.

"The Sprinter is widely recognised as the most reliable van on the market, but also leads the field when it comes to looks and style. The Mercedes-Benz three-pointed-star is a mark of distinction and helps to underpin the image of quality that we strive to present to our own customers."

As well as being clean and economical to run, the Sprinter is the safest van on the road, its comprehensive array of active and passive aids including the remarkable Adaptive ESP® anti-skid system, which takes account of a vehicle's changing load status and adjusts its settings accordingly.

Like all Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Vito vans retailed through the manufacturer's official UK dealer network, SCUK's vehicle is covered by a three-year, unlimited mileage warranty and came with a free Service Package (terms & conditions apply) covering all labour, materials and lubricants required in routine servicing at an official Mercedes-Benz workshop for up to five years or 60,000 miles, whichever is reached first.

Mr Broomfield added "The team at Road Range have been great to deal with and we're delighted with our first Sprinter. So if things go to plan and the business continues to expand we could be looking to buy a second soon."
