With the UK food and drink manufacturing processing industry set for growth of 3-4% in the medium-term, Midland Pallet Trucks is urging all those within the industry to ensure they’re prepared for the anticipated spike.
A new report by Research and Markets has found that the industry could reach a total value of £113.1bn as soon as 2018-19, with Scotland, the North West of England and Yorkshire identified as key areas to benefit from this expansion.
Midland Pallet Trucks, one of the UK’s leading providers of materials handling equipment, is encouraging businesses within the food manufacturing and processing industries to ensure that their existing equipment can handle the predicted growth. With a range of galvanized and stainless steel pallet trucks, Midland can help businesses in this sector bolster their fleet with appropriate, effective units that will enhance productivity and help businesses make hay while the sun shines.
Phil Chesworth, Managing Director of Midland Pallet Trucks, says, “With growth of up to 4% expected over the coming years, businesses within the food manufacturing and processing sector will be expected to be prepared for the heightened demand on their services. Organisations will need to ensure their equipment is in great condition, as well as perhaps taking on extra staff and expanding their premises to deal with the growth.”
Mr Chesworth adds, “The food industry requires fairly niche equipment which can be sterilised and kept hygienic easily. Here at Midland Pallet Trucks, we provide a range of galvanized and stainless steel pallet trucks which can withstand the cold temperatures inside an industrial freezer, as well as being able to cope with a daily clean with abrasive chemicals. We’d urge all businesses within the sector to stock up on this kind of quality equipment to ensure they’re prepared for the next few years of growth.”
One of the flagship products in the Midland Pallet Trucks range is the ACS20 Stainless Steel Hand Pallet Truck – a model with 2000kg capacity and a full anti-corrosion covering. The truck was specially designed for use in the food processing industry, and is largely used to carry meat, wines, beverages and other items. Made entirely from stainless steel, it can operate efficiently in very low temperature conditions, for example, when delivering goods into and out of freezers and coolers.
