Millionaire looking for turnaround challange

Shaf Rasul, the Edinburgh-based optical media entrepreneur whose estimated £102 million fortune makes him Scotland’s wealthiest Asian businessman, is on the look out for a “turnaround challenge” in the wholesaling and logistics sectors as he examines possible new business outlets for his talents.

E-net Distribution is the world’s leading distributor of optical media and has the exclusive distribution rights to market leading data storage brands Datasafe, Datawrite, Bulkpaq and Ridisc, serviced from its warehouse facility near Edinburgh Airport.

Rasul, who is listed as one of the country’s wealthiest businessmen according to the Sunday Times Rich List, built E-Net Distribution into the global market leader in just five years with annual revenues of £67m predicted to increase substantially. Founded in 2000, E-net has experienced continual year on year growth and today it has firmly positioned itself at the forefront of the evolution in data storage technology.

Shaf Rasul insists the best is yet to come: “The business has continued to grow at a remarkable rate over the past five years and with the introduction of our new product lines we fully expect this to trend to continue. The management team in place is doing a great job and it now allows me to look for other interesting challenges.

“I already have property interests but I am keen to throw my weight into a business that is perhaps struggling and requires a little extra push, or indeed, to be bought out. Financially, I don’t need to work, so a concept that stretches me mentally will probably be the best idea. Given my experience in maximising return from distribution channels, I think logistics, warehousing or wholesalers would benefit most.”

Any business that feels it could benefit from Shaf Rasul’s unique entrepreneurial verve should get in touch by contacting or call her on 0131 335 5083.
