MIQ Logistics gain ERTS accreditation for Southampton warehouse facility

MIQ Logistics has received full Enhanced Remote Transit Shed (ERTS) accreditation for its Southampton warehouse facility, which will achieve significant cost and time savings for its customers.

Regional Manager at MIQ Logistics, Gary Phillips, said: "The main benefit for customers using our ERTS facility is that if there is any delay with an importer customs clearing their consignment it will not delay other cargo in the container or lead to large quay rent charges. It also allows for quicker turnaround of containers and speeds up the process of customers receiving their consignments.

"In addition, because ERTS allows freight consignments in a container to be individually cleared through customs, customers benefit from improved cash flow due to delayed Duty and VAT payments."

MIQ's warehousing units offer safe, secure handling and storage in dry and controlled facilities. They are also secured and protected by electronic monitoring systems, fully alarmed with state of the art CCTV camera surveillance.

Phillips continued: "We offer year round storage and handling of all types of goods and our ERTS approval allows for fast transit and clearance of our customers cargo. Our dedicated warehouse space is controlled by specially approved software systems, linked directly to local customs stations."

MIQ's warehouse environment allows for special processes including Inventory Control; Order Processing; Pick and Pack and Dispatch. Customers can tailor a warehouse, handling and administration package to meet their individual supply chain requirements.

These services are complemented by a range of cargo handling services, from the smallest courier shipments, through to full ocean containers, air cargo palletisation through to large scale specialist projects.
