Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks announces new finance partner

Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks has announced the signing of a co-operation agreement which sees De Lage Landen International B.V. appointed as its Finance Partner.

The decision to choose De Lage Landen (DLL) is the result of a rigorous selection procedure in which Mitsubishi, as a global leader in the materials handling business, looked for a financial provider who could deliver strong local support to its valued dealer network through innovative finance products and competitive pricing.

As part of this process, many dealers were asked to nominate their three favourite finance companies. One name came up again and again: De Lage Landen.

The search for a new partner started when the previous agreement with CitiCapital was terminated in October 2004, following the acquisition of CitiCapital's Western European activities by CIT.

The new agreement will cover the UK, Spain, France, Germany and the Benelux area, and may also be extended to some Nordic countries.

One of the most attractive characteristics of the new relationship, according to Mr Kodai, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) President of Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks, is De Lage Landen's business unit focus and materials handling specialism: “In Europe, De Lage Landen is considered 'best in class'. It is an international company which understands our market and customer base, and has the capability to deliver to the local market.”

Damien Broadbent, De Lage Landen's European Business Unit Director Materials Handling and Construction, commented: “I am delighted that we have expanded our co-operation with one of the world's leading brands. It is central to the focus of our dealer strategy in Europe and has grown from a single local account into this pan-European program. We now look forward to developing this relationship further.

Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks offers one of the world's most comprehensive ranges of materials handling products, including counterbalance forklift trucks and warehouse equipment. As a result, it is able to offer the perfect vehicle for almost any task, in almost any environment. This new arrangement will make those products available on terms to suit any customer.
