Mobile Mini, a leading hirer of portable accommodation and secure storage containers, with its Kent branch based in Gravesend, is helping a local charity continue life-saving operations after providing a much-needed storage container to house vital equipment for search and rescue missions.

The Gravesend branch of Mobile Mini has provided Search Dogs Sussex with a safe and secure storage container free of charge, while the charity raises further funds for a more permanent solution.

Search Dogs Sussex is a voluntary low-land rescue organisation, founded in 2003, which provides nationally qualified search dog teams to support the emergency services when looking for vulnerable missing people. The team currently has 22 volunteers plus their 15 dogs, who are on call 24 hours a day, covering the whole of Sussex and also helping those in Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire when needed.

The charity receives no funding from the Government and relies solely on donations and sponsorship to keep the team operational. After storing its vital supplies at various volunteers’ properties over the years, the charity needed an urgent and secure storage solution to house its expert equipment as the team grows.

The container has been donated under Mobile Mini’s Community Involvement Programme, which offers free of charge storage container hire to non-profit or voluntary organisations, where Mobile Mini’s support can make a real difference. All of the company’s 16 depots, stretching from Glasgow to Southampton, are able to donate up to ten containers each year to worthy community causes.

Ashley Brimble, Sales Executive at Mobile Mini commented: “We’re delighted to help Search Dogs Sussex house equipment safely and securely while they raise funds for permanent storage. Our team is very pleased to support such a crucial local rescue charity and we hope our donation will help volunteers reach those in need even faster.”

David Mewett, Equipment Officer of Search Dogs Sussex also commented: “We didn’t have enough room to store our vital tools and equipment, which meant that everything was stored in multiple locations by our volunteers. Mobile Mini’s secure and spacious container enables us to keep everything in one place, allowing volunteers the flexibility to collect equipment quickly and easily. This shared and easy access can often mean the difference between life and death.”

“We cannot thank the team at Mobile Mini enough. They came to our rescue when we’re normally the ones doing the rescuing!”
