Solutions to the growing challenge of city logistics and the need for modal shift will be explored at Multimodal which takes place from 4th to 6th April at the Birmingham NEC.
Raising professional driving standards, logistics outsourcing, and the impact of Amazon on supply chain best practice will also be debated during the three-day programme of workshops and seminars organised in conjunction with The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), the United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA), and the Freight Transport Association (FTA).
Experts from across the supply chain will also consider the effect of Brexit on the logistics industry and explore the challenges and opportunities of the new business landscape post Brexit.
There will also be specialist perishables briefings led by the Food Storage & Distribution Federation (FSDF).
“Our industry is undergoing an unprecedented period of change, with new legislation, Brexit, and the disruption of traditional supply chains caused by the e-retail revolution,” said Robert Jervis, Logistics Portfolio Director, Clarion Events.
“Our education and seminar programme explores the issues and trends that matter to help our visitors stay ahead of the curve.
“We provide the ideal platform for industry decision makers to meet new suppliers, network, and grow business, ensuring they are ready to take advantage of the opportunities and face the challenges.”
More than 9,000 supply chain professionals are expected to visit over 250 logistics leaders, including Heathrow Cargo, Clipper, Kuehne + Nagel, Freightliner Group, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), and the Canute Group.
The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has dedicated a morning to the challenges facing air cargo, and IATA’s Cargo iQ interest group will hold a member’s meeting during the show.
The Rail Freight Group will also meet at the event.
Over 800 VIPs are expected to attend the FTA Multimodal Awards, hosted by David Gower OBE, at the VOX Conference Centre on the evening of 4th April.
