Modec is pleased to announce the signing of an exclusive distribution agreement for the Republic of Ireland with OHM Group.
The agreement with the dealership is the next step in the Company's expansion and sees Modec vehicles made available in Ireland.
Established in 1972, the OHM Group operates from purpose-built, state of the art facilities at six locations across the Republic of Ireland, including West Dublin, where the Modec demonstration vehicles will be based.
After full European homologation, the OHM Group expect to commence the first deliveries of Modecs in Ireland during the first quarter of 2009.
"We're delighted to be the first Modec dealership in Ireland," said Simon Teevan, OHM Group. "With the environment now a major concern all over the world and fuel costs continuing to rise, being able to supply electric vehicles to our customers is hugely important."
Modec is continuing to see a rising interest in its zero emission vehicles and both private and public organisations have already introduced Modec vehicles into their fleets.
"The likes of Tesco.com and two of London's councils have taken delivery of Modec vehicles and we are keen to ensure as many businesses as possible are aware of electric vehicle technology," says Jamie Borwick, Modec. "Ireland's adoption of Modec is a key step for the automotive industry and proves the future is heading towards zero emissions."
The OHM Group is the eighth Modec dealership location and joins six London dealer sites, along with Modec Netherlands based in Amsterdam.
