Molnlycke Health Care, a world leading manufacturer of single-use surgical and wound care products and services to the professional health care sector, has signed a more than three year agreement with logistics service provider DSV. Services in the agreement include final distribution into 14 countries combined with a tailor-made linehaul set-up. In addition to the operational activities, DSV will support Mölnlycke in the development and roll-out of their logistic strategic plan. The contract represents a business worth more than Euro 50 mln.
"In DSV, we found the company that is best aligned with our strategic direction which was clearly demonstrated during the commercial phase", says Lars Syberg, Global Logistics Director of Molnlycke Health Care. "Their solution is very much in line with our strategic ambition."
The Mölnlycke strategy focuses both on costs for the volume market and enhanced service offerings for the high-end market that Mölnlycke serves. DSV is a provider that can offer consistent services across various markets and is willing to develop these services further.
"We are delighted to provide this model of co-operation with Mölnlycke", says Rene Falch Olesen, Chief Commercial Officer at DSV. "Our organization has grown rapidly over the last few years and with our Global Accounts approach we are combining the strength of DSV operations with the integrated management of customers across various regions."
DSV Global Accounts provide a single point of contact for customers and facilitate the set up of a customised customer accounts organisation. Based on the customers’ strategy and operational requirements, an optimum solution is created based on DSV operations. This will provide more standardisation across operations and improved transparency. As DSV Road is present in all European countries, it provides the ability to change logistics set up without having to change the carrier base.
DSV will also work with Mölnlycke to re-engineer the company’s existing logistics structure. The transport engineering skills will be combined with a practical approach towards operational feasibility of new concepts.
