Motor Wheel Service Distribution receives NAA Award for CV Wheel Safety

John Ellis, managing director of Motor Wheel Service Distribution is presented with the Northwest Automotive Alliance’s Business Excellence Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Project of the Year Award by Amer Mushtaq (right), Board Member and Finance Controller for GETRAG FORD Transmissions GmbH.

The company was highly commended for its work into the issue of commercial vehicle wheel safety with the Department for Transport, European Union and main CV industry bodies, which is currently focusing on the early fatigue of wheels operating on non-circumferential hubs.

In the last 12 months Motor Wheel Service Distribution has also signed a two-year key supplier agreement with leading tyre specialist ATS Euromaster, plus heavy investment in an education and marketing campaign to support xlite forged aluminium wheels was praised.

The Northwest Automotive Alliance (NAA) Awards took place at Carden Park Hotel in Cheshire on 18th October, 2012.

Ellis said: "This has been a pivotal 12 months for the company and we find ourselves in excellent shape to grow and influence in a heavily suppressed market. The Award is a recognition of the magnificent efforts of every member of the team, all of whom have played a key role in our development."

The NAA is an independent, not-for-profit company which provides a membership service to the automotive community, supporting micro-companies through to the locally-based global vehicle manufacturers. The NAA’s Business Excellence programme works with member companies to help them improve their performance.

The Awards were a vivid demonstration of the success of companies working in the automotive sector in the region. The UK’s automotive sector is a key part of the UK economy, generating around £50bn in annual turnover and delivering £10bn in net value-added to the economy. The North West region is the largest producer of vehicles in the UK, valued at over £10bn per annum.
