Basildon and East Thurrock Member of Parliament, Angela Smith, has praised the staff commitment to success when she made an official visit to one of Basildon's newest businesses - Abby Couriers in Luckyn Lane, Basildon - this week.
Speaking after her visit she said: "Abby Couriers is a firm which is reaping the rewards of investing in its staff and investing in modern technology to provide customers with a reliable, effective service at a competitive cost.
"Staff are encouraged to develop new and existing expertise relevant to their job with time off to attend college courses and encouragement to gain additional qualifications.
"The new Head Office in Luckyn Lane are modern, attractive place to work with air conditioning providing a good working temperature, and ergonomically designed furniture and considerable investment in information and communication technology to provide a pleasant working environment.

"Sadly Basildon and East Thurrock Member of Parliament, Angela Smith, was unable to join us for our official opening but we are delighted that she has found time in her busy schedule to call in this week to meet our staff and see our computer controlled system in operation which helps us reduce fuel costs and our carbon footprint while making sure we hit the deadlines agreed with our customers for delivery of packages across the United Kingdom.
