MP to visit courier company

Basildon and East Thurrock Member of Parliament, Angela Smith, will make an official visit to one of Basildon's newest businesses - Abby Couriers in Luckyn Lane, Basildon - on Thursday 26 June 2008 at 4.00pm.

Managing Director at Abby Couriers, Mr Mark Giles, said: "Since moving to Basildon in April Abby Couriers has enjoyed considerable success with more than 70 potential new drivers attending a special open evening last week.

"Sadly Basildon and East Thurrock Member of Parliament, Angela Smith, was unable to join us for our official opening but we are delighted that she has found time in her busy schedule to call in on Thursday 26 June 2008 to meet our staff and see our computer controlled system in operation which helps us reduce fuel costs and our carbon footprint while making sure we hit the deadlines agreed with our customers for delivery of packages across the United Kingdom.

"We are looking forward to her joining us and to talking with her about the employment opportunities we are offering in Basildon."

Abby Couriers is a family run firm with a Head Office in Luckyn Lane, Basildon and offices at Welwyn Garden City, Vauxhall and Northamptonshire.
