Ihotdesk, a leading IT outsourcing services, has closed its physical offices today (May 18) to take part in National Work From Home Day. People who normally work from its head office in Liverpool Street, London, have been working from home. Many of the staff already use smarter working practices, with several permanently based at home.
Ihotdesk, which was established in 1999 to specialise in IT outsourcing services for the SME market, employs 40 people. The London office has 16 desks, but only six people could be considered as office-based.
David Horwood, managing director, said: “Our people, whether based in the London office, Cape Town office or home, use a Voice over IP (VoiP) telephone system, so we can speak to each other at no charge and transfer calls between us, with the caller not realising that we are working virtually. We use technology so we are a flexible and agile business.”
ihotdesk has partnerships with all major respected software and hardware suppliers, including Microsoft, being a Gold Certified partner, Citrix, Trend Micro, Sonicwall, Dell, Hewlett Packard, Avaya and Mitel. ihotdesk communications, is a sister company, providing Voice and Video conferencing services which use the internet for low cost communications.
