Nationwide extends partnership with SWRnewstar following a 97% landfill diversion

Nationwide Crash Repair Centres (Nationwide CRC), the leading and largest, comprehensive automotive repairer in the UK, has chosen to continue its partnership with SWRnewstar following substantial success over the last nine years.

Since working together SWRnewstar has implemented a range of services, including management of dry waste (mixed recycling and general waste), hard plastic, bumpers, hazardous waste and machinery. The decision to renew the contract was made after analysing the successes for Nationwide CRC, which includes significant cost savings, increased recycling levels to over 70% and landfill diversion of over 97%.

Nationwide CRC and SWRnewstar will continue to work collaboratively to further influence change by providing best practice training across the estate. These sessions ensure the waste processes match the specific needs of the sites, enabling further savings and efficiencies.

Steph Fitzpatrick, Procurement Manager, Nationwide CRC comments: “The team from SWRnewstar have listened to what we want to achieve and tailored the solution so it works for our business; this approach has delivered significant results.”

Cost savings aside, the culture change within our organisation has been noticeable and employees around the country are engaged. We’re looking forward to developing our working relationship with SWRnewstar and achieving further success.”

Dan Brown, Corporate Sector Director at SWRnewstar adds: “We’re proud of our longterm relationship with Nationwide CRC. Working together, we’ve been able to implement bespoke solutions and demonstrate ongoing improvements. We’re excited to get started on this next phase.

“Back in 2007, SWR was founded entirely around the waste and recycling needs of the automotive industry, so it’s great to see that the motor trade continues to be a key part of SWRnewstar’s core business.”
