A groundbreaking vehicle tracking and recovery management software (RMS) system is set to revolutionise the performance of recovery firms.
Vehicle tracking specialist Navman Wireless has joined forces with Apex Networks, the RMS and IT support provider, to offer a system that will help regional recovery firms meet the demanding performance targets of national breakdown service providers such as the AA, RAC and Green Flag.
The one-stop software platform seamlessly integrates two technologies, enabling recovery operators to receive subcontracted job requests from national breakdown operators, accept or decline them, locate the nearest available recovery vehicle, route and send job details to the technician, manage the storage, repair and salvage of the vehicle and generate invoices – all at the touch of button.
"This unique partnership will see both Navman Wireless and Apex Networks working closely to deliver a number of industry firsts for RMS users," said Navman Wireless Managing Director Tony Neill.
"The wealth of information that recovery firms will now have access to will not only help them to boost their operational efficiency, it will improve their bottom line, their duty of care responsibilities to employees and their technicians’ working lives."
Vehicle locations can be determined at a glance from detailed onscreen maps while management reports on recovery vehicle activities include everything from speed analysis to driver working hours.
With integrated in-cab messaging and sat nav units, technicians can be sent a message containing job details, can click to accept the job and launch an on-screen map with route instructions to the next incident.
"This system provides integrated flexibility to the recovery industry and is the most comprehensive and resilient technology available that will enhance the performance of recovery operators," said Apex Networks Director Steve Williams.
Firms already benefiting from the new system include The Mansfield Group, Arthur Jones Motors and Egertons Recovery; with Burrows Recovery also in the process of migration.
Apex will be exhibiting and demonstrating the new system at the European Tow Show, held at the Telford International Centre, from June 24 to June 26; stand number FS7.
