David Higgins, the new Chief Executive of Network Rail, will make the keynote address at the President’s Annual Inauguration Lunch of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) next Friday 20th May at London’s Connaught Rooms.
He will speak to an audience of around 100 senior transport experts from the rail, bus, aviation, freight and logistics sectors hosted by the incoming CILT President, Transport for London Commissioner Peter Hendy CBE. Peter will be inaugurated as President at the event.
David Higgins will be discussing some key topics facing the transport industry at the event.
David Higgins is a successful chief executive, civil engineer and project manager. He became Chief Executive of Network Rail on 1st February 2011, setting out his priorities as being: ‘To drive further a culture of safety, to get even better value for money for the British people and to be more attuned to the needs of our customers and passengers’.
CILT’s Chief Executive Steve Agg commented: ‘David Higgins is a highly experienced and shrewd operator. His views will be keenly listened to at the President’s Lunch, and he is a natural choice to mark the inauguration of Peter Hendy as our new President.’
Previously Chief Executive of the Olympic Delivery Authority from 2006, David Higgins became a non-Executive Director of Network Rail in April 2010.
