New ALEM website provides fully interactive resource

The Association of Loading and Elevation Equipment Manufacturers (ALEM) has launched an updated website to provide member companies, prospective members and end users with a one stop source of information and advice (www.alem.org.uk).

ALEM represents the interests of UK manufacturers and suppliers of loading bay equipment including dock levellers, scissor lifts, vehicle tail lifts and all ancillary products. It provides cost-effective, tangible benefits to its members by updating them on a wide range of topical issues such as new legislation and standards, highlighting market developments and providing networking opportunities.

The newly developed website is a fully interactive platform and exceptionally easy to navigate. Alongside technical advice, users can view important information relating to membership criteria, products and services, latest news and details of forthcoming industry events.

Existing ALEM members are provided with private login details to access ‘members only’ content such as specific announcements, upcoming networking events and information regarding legislative and regulatory issues. Members may also make use of the website to promote their own companies, products and services.

ALEM members must be committed to complying with all relevant European Standards, the UK Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations and CE marking. In return for this commitment, the Association offers support, technical expertise and an authoritative voice within the industry, both in the UK and throughout Europe.

Ed Wilks, President of ALEM, is delighted with the update. He says, "I’m positive that the new website will help to increase awareness of the Association and the range of benefits to its members. Since ALEM was formed in 1973 with eight members, membership has steadily grown and the new website accurately reflects the Association’s ability to face the challenges of the 21st Century."
