New chapter for Thistle International Freight

Thistle International Freight Limited has been bought by the logistics holding company, Adamslie Holdings Ltd. The acquisition of the Scottish freight forwarding firm builds on Adamslie Holding’s portfolio of freight specialist businesses, which includes TPC Freight Management. The acquisition was managed for Adamslie Holdings by Douglas McGhee at Haines Watts’ Glasgow Office.

Thistle International Freight Limited was established in 1987 and has remained a family-owned business until MD Ian Whyte’s retirement on 1st February 2011. The company specialises in exports and imports by air, sea and road; import custom facilities; worldwide courier services; same/next day delivery and logistic warehousing. Thistle moves cargo all over the world for a range of customers within the ship management, engineering and wine and spirits sectors via its worldwide network of agents.

"We are delighted with the acquisition," said Margaret Fletcher, Director of Thistle International Freight. "The Thistle team, which remains largely unchanged, will continue to deliver high quality logistics solutions to our customers around the world. We are really looking forward to building on the strong foundations of customer focus and quality of service laid down by the Whyte family over the past 24 years."

Thistle International Freight is based at a 60,000ft2 site in Paisley, Scotland, which incorporates offices and a warehouse facility. Their mission statement is to achieve and maintain the highest standard of service.
