Continued demand for British made materials handling products has resulted in a Birmingham-based manufacturer expanding its in-house design team.
The appointment of Jatin Sangani by Wilmat reflects strong orders for the company that specialises in pedestrian lift trucks, stackers and mobile cranes. Many of its products are bespoke designs, built to the requirements of its customers.
As a product designer, 24-year-old Jatin will be responsible for helping the company develop one-off designs as well as enhancing Wilmat’s well established range of standard products.
A graduate from the University of Manchester, he joins the company after several years working for Wabtec Rail in Glasgow and says he’s excited at the new challenge.
"I’ve always wanted to work in the West Midlands, right at the heart of British manufacturing," he said.
"Wilmat has offered me the chance to advance my career and I’m looking forward to playing my part in the company’s ongoing success."
Andrew Capella, the firm’s Technical Director, added: "This latest appointment shows our confidence in the future and our belief that there’s renewed interest in British made goods, particularly in the UK where we sell most of our products.
"Jatin is a bright young designer with plenty to offer and he’s already making a valuable contribution to the company."
Outside of work Jatin, who now lives a short distance from Wilmat’s production facilities in Steward Steet, Birmingham, says he enjoys music and watching movies.
