At Bauma, Doosan Portable Power is launching the G400-IIIA (400 kVA prime power) and G500-IIIA (500 kVA prime power) generators meeting the EU Stage IIIA engine emission regulations for generators. As well as incorporating the changes required to meet the Stage IIIA regulations, the new generators have been redesigned to offer increased reliability, high performance and a wider choice of features to meet the needs of temporary power applications.
The output performance stability of the generators is ensured by an optimised powertrain featuring a combination of Scania Stage IIIA engines and Leroy Somer alternators. The use of variable speed radiator fans has improved fuel efficiency, for both the G400-IIIA and G500-IIIA models. The generators have a standard fuel storage capacity offering a minimum of 10 hours of autonomous operation (at 75% of the load), while a 24-hour on-board fuel tank configuration is available as an option.
The fuel tank frame assembly, which ensures 110% fluid containment capacity, provides the highest operational flexibility available in the generator market. As fuel quality and storage are the main concerns for rental companies, routine fuel tank maintenance tasks have been simplified, with special attention to the fuel tank cleaning and port draining processes.
The new generators use powerful Leroy Somer alternators with the AREP excitation system, providing best-in-class motor-starting performance. This system is ideal for powering concrete and asphalt batching plants, major events or concerts, industrial processes and other applications with high load start-up demands and the need for a reliable power supply. To increase long term reliability in harsh environments, the standard alternator configuration includes ‘heavy duty’ protection for the rotor and stator windings.
The electrical control and power compartment is designed to meet the highest safety, reliability and flexibility requirements. All control functions are grouped together on a common, simple-to-use operator control panel with easy-to-read analogue gauges. A digital control panel version, offering extended parameter measurements and historical storage of events and alarms, is available as an option. Combined with the digital controller, a switchable dual frequency 50/60 Hz feature is also available as an option. The two generator models are EU Stage IIIA emission compliant at both 50 and 60 Hz frequencies.
The power supply pedestal features as standard a robust busbar connection with high quality electrical protection and an adjustable earth leakage relay. A multi grounding/neutral module is available as an option.
To increase flexibility, the two models new will be available with synchronization controller (optional). This option, featuring the recently released DEIF AGC4 module and a Schneider motorised circuit breaker, will allow a generator unit to safely run synchronised with other units or the transport/distribution grid, in multiple application configurations.
Additional options, such as DEIF alarm modules, CAN communication with a Digital Voltage Regulator and a remote operation field case, provide the customer with the most professional hardware available and drive productivity to its highest levels.
The robust canopy used on the existing generator range is utilised for the new products. The configuration and design of the air inlets have been optimised to meet cooling requirements in locations with high ambient temperatures. Access to key areas, such as the lifting eye, radiator and engine maintenance points, has been improved. The sound attenuation performance of the generators meets or exceeds the relevant European regulations.
From the construction site, to the concert stage, to the front lines of disaster relief efforts, the new Doosan Portable Power generators offer rental companies, contractors, civil engineers, event organisers, emergency services, general industry and many other customers the highest reliability, backed by dedicated technical and service support worldwide.
