New Earth Solutions, the waste treatment and resource recovery firm with a fast growing portfolio of local authority contracts has appointed Colin Brown to the new position of Operations Director.
Brown has broad experience across the waste and recycling sector where he has worked with both public and private sector clients. Assuming responsibility for overseeing operations at the firm's existing Canford facility in Dorset, he will also be significantly involved in managing operations at facilities in various stages of development to fulfil contracts with Kent County Council, Bristol City Council and Leicestershire County Council.

Originally qualified as a Chartered Engineer, prior to joining New Earth Solutions as Operations Director, Brown was Divisional Director of Jacobs' Waste Management Consultancy where he was involved in local authority projects and waste procurement under Public Finance Initiatives (PFI). Previous to this he was Managing Director of the Hazardous Waste Division, at independent waste management company, Shanks.

Within the last two years, New Earth Solutions has been contracted to develop advanced treatment facilities by five local authorities including Bournemouth Borough Council, Kent County Council, Bristol City Council, and Leicestershire County Council.
In July 2008, New Earth Solutions launched the Recycling Facilities Investment Sub-Fund, which is designed to attract experienced retail investors to invest in the rapid expansion and roll-out of the firm's bespoke facilities across the UK.
