New fleet keeps Forbo service fresh

Norbert Dentressangle has invested in five new vehicles, along with a state-of-the-art mobile track and trace system, to serve its contract with Forbo Flooring Systems.

The five new MAN TGS 320 6X2 26 tonne rigids are equipped with a roof suspended load restraint system, internal bars to allow product to be transported vertically, along with tail mounted Moffett forklifts, complete with carpet booms, to allow safe and efficient handling of flooring rolls up to 4 metres in length and weighing up to 200kg.

Norbert Dentressangle has also implemented state-of-the-art mobile track and trace technology, allowing Forbo to provide its customers with automated pre-notification of deliveries by e-mail and SMS, a two-hour time slot for all deliveries made by the dedicated fleet and real-time track and trace information, using geofencing and GPS technology to monitor departure, ETA and arrival times and automatically identify and escalate any issues.

Norbert Dentressangle and Forbo have worked together continuously since 1997, signing a new three year contract in June last year.

Norbert Dentressangle provides around 90,000 sq ft of space within its shared-user facility in Warrington and operates a dedicated fleet of five vehicles, carrying 400 tonnes of product and making around 800 deliveries each week.

Diane Gott, Head of UK Customer Service for Forbo Flooring Systems, said: “These new vehicles and technology place Forbo at the very forefront of our industry and support our commitment to delivering the very highest levels of customer satisfaction.

“As a longstanding, strategic partner to Forbo, Norbert Dentressangle understands that our operation presents some unique challenges and is willing to invest to ensure that our service remains, quite simply, second to none.”
