The most comprehensive guide to racking and warehouse storage produced by industry leader Link 51 (Storage Products), is now available and is already ‘flying off the shelves’. Running to more than 70 pages, the ‘Racking and Warehouse Storage Guide’ presents an extensive range of information and is being widely welcomed by those involved in the warehousing sector.
"We have been careful not to produce a sales document, but to bring together key information into one single volume," comments Link 51’s Marketing Manager, Emma Bloomer. "The Guide runs from racking capacity calculations and regulations, to health and safety requirements and contact details for relevant, associated organisations. Our hope that it will be a valuable guide to users has already been surpassed by comments received from a wide variety of customers."
Additionally, a step-by-step guide on warehouse planning, which forms the introduction to the Guide, includes a handy series of ‘do’s and don’ts’, while details relating to operation and maintenance, load notice requirements, relevant industry standards and CDM obligations then follow.
"Our success is heavily associated with an ability to integrate our products and services with other key suppliers to meet specific customer needs, and this too is reflected in the new Racking and Warehouse Storage Guide," adds Emma Bloomer. For example, she draws attention to sections dedicated to pallets and materials handling equipment, which comment on applications in relation to different racking designs.
Different racking types are clearly presented in the Link 51 Guide, each including a key features checklist and an example of a relevant Link 51 installation. From standard aisle and double deep racking through narrow aisle, push back or drive-in alternatives, as well as information relating to mobile and pallet live storage – all are covered in detail with key guidelines clearly presented.
"This is the first time we have brought together such relevant detail into a single, all-embracing publication and while there are, of course, references to Link 51, our primary intention is to provide a valuable and authoritative document for the industry as a whole," continues Emma Bloomer. "We used the recent IMHX Exhibition at the NEC to launch the Storage Guide and the positive reaction there has continued since. The unprecedented demand for the initial stock has already prompted us to look towards a second print run.
"Since our establishment almost 60 years ago, we have looked to take a leading role in the materials handling industry. We are delighted that the availability now of the Link 51 Racking and Warehouse Storage Guide is already proving to be a major success and is set to help our customers gain further from the capability and experience that Link 51 can offer," she concludes.
