New mid tension battery strapping tool available from Cyklop

A new ergonomically designed hand strapping tool, ideally suited for medium and heavy duty applications, is now exclusively available in the UK from Cambridgeshire-based Cyklop UK Ltd.

The CMT200 can accommodate polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PET) strap of between 12mm and 16mm, with tensioning of up to 2000N achievable. This makes it ideal for industries such as construction, corrugated or any company where load stability during transit is a must.

The CMT200 is a lightweight yet robust unit, weighing just 4.2kg including battery, which has been ergonomically designed for single-handed operation. It comes with a rechargeable battery which can complete up to 200 strapping cycles per charge.

All controls are via simple touch pad operation, including the strap welding time, which is adjustable in five steps, as well as the tension control. Remaining battery capacity can also be shown at the push of a button.

Wear parts, such as the tension wheel, gripper plate and cutter, can be easily replaced with a screwdriver (supplied with the unit) without the need for special knowledge or training, minimising downtime. Strap width can also be easily adjusted by the operator, while the CMT200 can accommodate strap thickness of between 0.5mm and 1.12mm without any adjustment needed.

Cyklop can supply all consumable requirements as well as maintenance and servicing by its own specialist team of engineers.

The CMT200 also ideally complements other Cyklop products such as the ES600 range of mobile pallet strappers. These products pass the strap automatically underneath and around palletised loads via a unique ChainLance system, back into the operator's hand ready for tensioning, cutting and sealing.

David Hearn, Managing Director of Cyklop UK Ltd, commented: "The CMT200 fits ideally into the range between the CB130 for light applications and the CHT300 for very heavy usage where wide strap and high tensions are required. The CMT200 offers all the advantages of fast and easy strapping in a compact, light unit designed with the operator very much in mind. Due to its versatility, we anticipate high demand for this product from a wide variety of sectors."
