New truck and trailer investment for Potter Logistics

Potter Logistics has made a significant investment in 10 Mercedes Actros 2545 tractor units and 22 SDC trailers which are a mix of double and single decks. The company, well known for its specialist warehouse, distribution and rail freight terminal services, has a growing transport sector.

Nick Brightey, general manager of Potter Logistics' transport division and York distribution centre comments, "Investing in these premium trucks and trailers demonstrates our continuing commitment to further improve the quality of Potter's transport and distribution service to its customers.

"Our transport division has recently shown impressive growth, winning some important new contracts and making it necessary to increase the size of our fleet. We will also be updating some of the tractor units at our York distribution centre.

"The Actros 2545 truck is our new fleet vehicle of choice. After a trial period we opted for the Mercedes for several reasons - they are reliable trucks with superior fuel economy, minimal running costs and a lower level of depreciation than the competition. We're sufficiently pleased with the trucks that we've put in an order for eight more.

"In addition, we have also invested in a total of 22 SDC curtainsiders. These trailers will be constructed to EN12642XL certification ensuring that they are both strong and stable."
