New waste treatment initiative, Green Goals, from Bournemouth Council

Bournemouth Council refuse vehicles will be sporting new livery panels to help raise awareness about the local Green Goals project. New Earth Solutions, the company responsible for treating household waste from the Bournemouth area and diverting it from landfill, is a project partner in the initiative with Bournemouth Borough Council Street Services.

Two of the Council's fleet will feature panels showing an AFC Bournemouth footballer in action accompanied by the slogan, "Let's tackle litter!"

Green Goals was set up last year as a unique partnership between business, education and football and is aimed at keeping Bournemouth a cleaner, safer, greener place to live, work and visit.

Larry Austin, Street Services Manager for Bournemouth Council, said: "As our waste vehicles are out and about eight hours a day they provide a highly visible means of getting the message across about what the Green Goals project stands for. We can improve our environment and we can make the town a cleaner, safer, greener place to enjoy for everyone."

Peter Mills, Development Director at New Earth Solutions, said "We are very proud to be associated with the Green Goals initiative. The refuse vehicles look great and it's a fantastic way of raising the profile of the project - letting thousands of people know what Green Goals is trying to achieve in a very visual format."
