Colliers ties up Schuh for Livingston hub

Colliers International, acting on behalf of Anglesea Capital, has let J4M8 240 Distribution Park, Livingston, to Schuh, one of the leading fashion footwear retailers in the UK, for use as its European distribution centre.

The purpose-built distribution facility is situated at Junction 4 of the M8 Edinburgh to Glasgow motorway and offers an ideal solution to Schuh's future growth distribution requirements. The 22,728 sq m (244,644 sq ft) building, originally developed by Gladman, has 15m eaves, 22 dock levellers and extensive car parking and yardage for HGV trailer parking and circulation.

Schuh, which is also headquartered in Livingston, West Lothian, has over 90 stores throughout the UK and Ireland, selling over 100 brands and their own label collections.

Bryce Stewart, director at Colliers International, commented: "This is a significant transaction in the Scottish distribution market and follows a number of deals that have completed over the last few months. The supply of large good quality distribution units in the East of Scotland is now at critically low level."

One further building is available at Livingston's Distribution Park, with J4M8 380 extending to 382,391 sq ft (35,525 sq m).

Colliers International and GVA James Barr acted on behalf of Anglesea Capital and Schuh was represented by Ryden.

The value of the transaction has not been disclosed.
