Euromaster to manage tyre requirements for PHS 314 vehicle fleet

The Lancing-based companies PHS All Clear and PHS Wastetech have appointed ATS Euromaster to manage their tyre requirements across a combined fleet of 314 trucks, vans and cars which are spread across depots nationwide.

PHS All Clear took the decision to switch to ATS Euromaster following a fleet audit which highlighted business improvements that could be made using ATS Euromaster's fully-managed service package.

Gary Batchelor, PHS All Clear and PHS Wastetech National Transport Manager comments: "One of the biggest considerations for us was the introduction of a new service provider as we felt this had the potential to create disruption and impact revenue.

"ATS Euromaster's approach has been impressive and the switch was seamless. The fleet audit carried out by the business development team highlighted significant savings that could be made and these have instantly been achieved, seeing tyre damage reduced by 20 per cent through simple steps such as ensuring that each vehicle is fitted with the tyres best suited to the environment in which it operates. Coupled with an ongoing tyre management programme, we are expecting to dramatically cut our tyre spend and to reap the benefit of greater longevity from each tyre."

"The ATS Euromaster team has been brilliant, assisting us at every step, from the introduction of fleet inspections and a new tyre policy to the web-based reporting system and rolling out of a driver information programme and training."

Monthly inspections of the PHS fleets are carried out using ATS Euromaster's electronic data capture system, which allows its technicians to record each tyre's condition and tread depth onto a small handheld computer. Results are then uploaded via mobile phone to a central database and emailed to PHS' local and ATS Euromaster service centre, which co-ordinates any tyre replacements or service work that is required.

Batchelor adds: "Our biggest worry was that with vehicles spread out across so many locations, it was too big a nightmare to consider changing supplier, but this has not been the case. We have been impressed by the high standards ATS Euromaster has brought to managing our new tyre policy."

The transition across to ATS Euromaster has been managed by its Business Development Team and Implementation Manager. By working with the customer at all stages the change was seamless and delivered as agreed. There has been no effect on the customers' day-to-day operation and ATS Euromaster is working to improve the customers' own efficiencies.

All commercial vehicles in the PHS fleets will be supported by ATS Euromaster's 250 frontline rapid response vehicles, which are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to provide emergency roadside assistance in the event of a tyre-related breakdown. The customer will also benefit from access to a further 950 mobile service vans, which carry out routine tyre maintenance across the fleet at any PHS office or depot.
