DB Schenker has introduced remote-controlled forklift operations at its Contract Logistics site in Kassel, Germany, in collaboration with enabl Technologies.

Using enabl’s platform, drivers operate forklifts remotely, managing multiple vehicles at different locations.

This innovation aims to address staff shortages, improve efficiency, and automate logistics processes.

Lucas Mömken, Vice President of Global Engineering & Innovation at DB Schenker, highlighted the benefits of this partnership.

“By collaborating with enabl, we can adapt to demand fluctuations and enhance productivity through automation, securing our competitive edge long-term.”

The companies have signed a Letter of Intent to expand their partnership, aiming to scale enabl’s technology to additional DB Schenker locations worldwide.

This initiative will likely represent a significant step toward greater automation and innovation in the logistics sector.

Julian Wadephul, CEO of enabl Technologies, emphasised the breakthrough: “Our solution has been in use at DB Schenker for nine months, proving its value in addressing market needs.

"This milestone supports our ambition to lead warehouse automation globally.”
