Norbert Dentressangle transport and logistics secures major distribution contract

Norbert Dentressangle has secured a major new multi-million pound contract over three years with industry market leader Building Adhesives Limited.

Based in Stoke-on-Trent, Building Adhesives Ltd specialises in the development, manufacture and distribution of ceramic tile adhesives, grouts, silicone sealants and ancillary products for a wide range of applications under the BAL and Dunlop brand names.

To differentiate the company in a competitive market, Building Adhesives Ltd set about re-enforcing its brand values of professionalism, service performance and quality throughout its business, and sought a new distribution partner that could reflect these standards.

Andy Neville, Head of Supply Chain at Building Adhesives Ltd, explained: "We were looking for a distribution partner that had the shared-user infrastructure to handle volume deliveries, would be proactive in reducing costs and provide accurate, auditable management information. Norbert Dentressangle is the ideal partner with the expertise we need and the flexibility to handle our future plans."

Norbert Dentressangle Transport Services collects products from Building Adhesive Ltd's manufacturing centre and makes over 10,000 next day deliveries per annum using a range of regional partners and managed capacity to distributors, wholesalers and retailers across the UK.

With an automatic interface of the company's booking diary input into its SHARP (Shipment Handling and Reporting Program) system, Norbert Dentressangle is able to provide Building Adhesive Ltd with greater operational visibility and control than previously enjoyed. This improved quality of service is valued by Building Adhesives Ltd.

As an added value service, Norbert Dentressangle works with Building Adhesives Ltd to forecast its operational needs using its data capture technology to identify trends.

Part of the German Ardex Group, Building Adhesives Ltd was founded in 1962 as a development centre for the British ceramic tile industry. It still retains its position today as the leading authority in the UK professional tiling market with a renowned reputation for its stringent product quality and excellent technical and training services.
